Megan Piper came to Custom House in early 2022 and has quickly become a leading consultant in many practice areas, including in our affordable housing and hospitality practices. Leveraging her insurance and real estate brokerage experience, Megan excels at managing all the insurance aspects of complex construction projects and real estate closings.

Prior to joining Custom House, Megan worked as a Risk Analyst for the commercial real estate company, CBRE. She began her career in insurance and risk management at AssuredPartners, where she was responsible for the office’s largest commercial accounts. This experience honed her skills in managing global insurance programs, reviewing contracts, and handling policy audits.

Megan's success extends beyond technical expertise. Through clear and frequent communication, she is adept at keeping all parties – clients, lenders, and insurance providers – informed and aligned throughout the development and construction process. Her meticulous attention to detail ensures that insurance programs comply with all requirements, preventing last-minute hurdles that could derail a closing.  Megan's ability to navigate complex situations and communicate effectively is a cornerstone of her success in getting deals done smoothly and efficiently.

Megan is experienced in development and construction risk management, hospitality insurance programs, client and lender communication, builder’s risk and construction liability insurance, and affordable housing insurance, acquisitions, and lender compliance. She is currently pursuing her Associate in Risk Management (“ARM”) designation.
