Brian began his career as an insurer side insurance defense litigator handling asbestos and products liability claims, as well as environmental claims, employment and discrimination matters, construction losses, and complex commercial disputes. His work included large multi party environmental cases, an employment dispute he argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and other pollution related matters such as oil spill and brownfields claims.

In 2022 Brian transitioned from litigation to risk management consulting, bringing his courtroom perspective to insurance placement, contractual risk transfer, claims strategy, and program design. His courtroom experience gives him a practical view of how coverage disputes develop, allowing him to help clients identify and correct exposure gaps before they become costly, protracted disputes.

Brian’s work as a risk management consultant has included transactional support for acquisitions and construction closings, ongoing insurance program management, placement and negotiation for multi jurisdictional hospitality portfolios (including difficult locations like Coastal Florida, California, Hawaii, and Mexico), advising institutional lenders on insurance compliance and contract language, and structuring catastrophic risk insurance programs through London markets..
