Mark Hanna, J.D.
Risk Management Consultant

Mark Hanna came to risk management consulting by way of the courtroom, first as a county prosecutor and then in private practice defending engineers and other professionals in professional liability litigation. In 2022, Mark transitioned into a consulting role, advising real estate owners, developers, and managers on their insurance programs. His litigation background informs the way he reads contract and policy language, with an eye toward how it will hold up when tested.
Mark’s work spans the full life of a real estate insurance program: master insurance programs and renewals for multi-location portfolios, builder’s risk and controlled insurance programs (OCIP/CCIP) for ground-up construction, contractual risk transfer, and handling lender insurance requirements from the term sheet through closing. He gravitates toward complex and first-time insurance placements and enjoys the challenge of figuring out the best solutions for claims or coverage situations without an established playbook.
Mark is known for bringing a practical, solutions-oriented approach to complex insurance issues. He enjoys working collaboratively with clients and project teams to solve difficult coverage and contractual challenges while keeping transactions moving toward a successful closing.
